Wasps can be an alarming pest to have near your home. They could sting you, your family or pets for seemingly no reason and ruin an entire afternoon. When not bothering humans, wasps spend most of their time looking for dead insects and eating flies. This helps to answer the question of “what is the point of wasps” but doesn’t change the fact that you don’t want them in your yard or home. Solitary wasps are less dangerous, but still a nuisance. If you have a wasp problem, call Fox Pest Control for help. Our trained professionals will take care of them before they can cause any harm to you.
You might already know you have a wasp infestation but here are a few of the most common signs wasp exterminators look for in Chicago Metro Area.
The first sign people notice are actual wasps flying around the house, yard, or garden. They might hover around flowers, tree blossoms, and gutters.
Some species of wasps in Chicago Metro Area make nests above ground in trees, hanging in soffits, or on poles. These nests can range in size from a pingpong ball to a basketball, depending on the species.
Some wasp species make nests underground, under house siding, or inside soffits. These can be especially difficult to find because the only sign of them is wasps flying in and out of their nests.

Also known as adrenaline, epinephrine is a hormone the body produces that increases blood flow, restores heart rhythm, and opens air passages. Wasp control is important because although many people with allergies to insect stings carry an epinephrine injection, further medical attention would be required in the case of anaphylaxis.
Often caused by insect stings, anaphylaxis (or anaphylactic shock) is a life-threatening allergic reaction that can be characterized by obstructed breathing, irregular heart rhythm, massive or irregular swelling, or hives. Anaphylaxis requires immediate emergency medical attention.
In general, wasps eat other insects, including crop-destroying insects that cause problems for gardeners and farmers, which makes them beneficial in the wild.
Some species of wasps also eat flower nectar and pollen, contributing to pollination. However, no pollinating insects are quite as efficient as native bees. Nevertheless, you should get rid of wasps when they become a nuisance. When this starts to happen, keep a great Chicago Metro Area wasp exterminator in mind, like Fox Pest Control.

Not all species are aggressive, but those that are usually become most agitated during the late summer and fall. Some wasps will dive-bomb into soda cans, hover over plates, or attack without much provocation. These types of wasps are generally among the various species that eat sugary flower nectar. When this starts to happen, keep a great Chicago Metro Area wasp exterminator in mind, like Fox Pest Control.
Some wasps make a small amount of honey that they regurgitate for their larvae to eat. However, they don’t collect pollen the way honey bees do to make honey. While all wasps eat meat of one kind or another, some types also eat flower nectar and pollen. So, technically they are pollinators, but they aren’t nearly as good at it as native bees and honey bees. Nevertheless, you should get rid of wasps when they become a nuisance. When this starts to happen, keep a great Chicago Metro Area wasp exterminator in mind, like Fox Pest Control.
Wasp. This is a general term that describes any flying insect that can sting multiple times, eats meat, and is either solitary or makes colonies.
Hornets, paper wasps, yellow jackets, and mud daubers are all types of wasps.
Bumblebees have round, fuzzy bodies and stubby wings. They are usually black and yellow. They are closely related to wasps, but they aren’t wasps or bees.
Bees. Of all the thousands of bee species, they all have hairy bodies, short wings, and at least some hairs, though some kinds are fuzzy. They can be black and yellow or completely black.
The most well-known types of bees are honey bees and carpenter bees.
Juan was on time and very knowledgeable. He took care of my wasp problem. I highly recommend.
We have been Fox customers for a bit over a year now, and cannot stress enough how amazing Juan is! We had a major wasp issue upon moving in, and Juan managed to thoroughly fix our problem. His attention to detail and going the extra mile to make customers happy with their service is remarkable and commendable. He truly is a wonderful representation for this company and as long as Juan is at Fox, we will continue to use this company for our pest control needs! Juan came to spot treat our home today while simultaneously training our other technician, Bobby. Bobby is also wonderful, knowledgeable, and kind, and will surely follow in the successful footsteps that Juan is setting him up within as he continues to practice the methods taught to him on the field. Overall, the services offered by Fox are of high quality and affordable. As someone who cant stand spiders and wasps, Fox pest control has been a God-send for us as new home owners. I am also a person who likes to know what is being done to prevent these pests and learning more about what we can do as homeowners to prevent repeat issues, and that benchmark is surely met thanks to Foxs awesome technicians like Bobby and Juan. We look forward to continued business with Fox, Juan and Bobby. (Seriously, if you havent stopped reading this to give Fox a call yet go. Do it. You wont regret it!)
I hired Fox Pest control to help control ants, wasps rodents and other pests at my ranch. The first experience was not the best, and we had a few phone calls back and forth to the point I almost cancelled the service. Today we had our second quarterly visit and I was ready for a fight. The technician that came out today, Juan S, was extremely knowledgeable and patient. He listened to my concerns and issues and after our discussions and his explanations of what the product are and how they work, he did everything in his power to correct issues and resolve my concerns. We discuss the questions I had and is researching them for me to find the best plan that will ensure the pest control is achieved without harming my animals. He has put my biggest fears and concerns to rest. I look forward to working with Juan further as we control our issues. Juan is truly an asset to the Fox Family!!
They came to our door saying there was "neighborly" deal. This was our first home and pretty upset we were taken advantage of. Still see wasps everywhere, spider webs everywhere and ants everywhere. Didn't even get the spider webs from the front door. Called to cancel their service and was told there is a $150 dollar fee to cancel which we were not told about when they came and blew my mind. Will change my review if they come out and fix the issue but until then would highly not recommend this scam as they have done nothing close to the service they said they would provide.
Juan Salazar is exceptional. He is VERY knowledgeable and great at explaining. He took the time to address my concerns and went out of his way to take care of the vole and wasp problem that I didn't even realize I had until he showed me. Thank goodness for Juan, my family is safer in our backyard. I have been with Fox Pest Control for 3 years and he is the best one that has come out for help. I will always request him by name. He is a valuable asset to the company with a very bright future. Thanks again Juan
Ive been using Fox Pest Control for over 1 year. I first needed them for a carpenter ant problem. They came out to attend to that and perform the other basics. When the ants moved to a new area, I called them up and they immediately came out to take care of the new nest. I havent seen them again. And the wasps are always finding new areas to put their nest. And Fox again comes to the rescue. The regular visits keep the pests away. And recently Juan S has been my technician. He is extremely professional and easy to talk to. He took care of my issues immediately! Thank you Juan!!
